- Music Theatre Melbourne: ‘Covid (or Isolation): The Musical’Terms & Conditions:
- The Company is: Music Theatre Melbourne Pty Ltd.
- The competition is open to residents of Australia aged 16 years or over except anyone connected with the Company or judging of the competition.
- There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.
- By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
- All notices of intention to enter and formal applications with relevant materials must be sent via email to mark@featherbys.com.au
- An entrant may enter this competition by first submitting a notice of intention to enter by 31 May 2020. The notice of intention to enter the competition is provided on this website (notice of intention to enter).
- Registered entrants must complete the formal application form (provided on this website) and submit it with the following materials by no later than 30 September 2020 (submission date):
- At least one third of their completed script
- A synopsis of their story and a detailed outline of the book to completion
- Recorded samples of at least five songs (at least 30 seconds each)
- A detailed list of characters and their voice requirements
- An outline of staging requirements as well as their design concepts for the show
- Only one entry will be accepted per person. Multiple entries from the same person will be disqualified.
- Closing date for entry will be 30 September 2020. After this date, no further entries to the competition will be accepted after the submission date.
- No responsibility will be accepted for entries not received by the submission date for whatever reason.
- The company reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the following events:
- catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, pandemic, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the company’s control
- a theatre where it is intended to produce either a workshop or staged concert version of the show is not available on an anticipated date
- if the company determines in its sole discretion that no entry meets the necessary standard/criteria to lead to a production
- any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the Company
- The Company is not responsible for inaccurate details supplied to any entrant by any third party.
- The company will partner and work with the winning entrant to develop the show, leading to a 2 day workshop (anticipated to be in July/August 2021) and then a staged, concert production of the show (anticipated to be in October/November 2021). The company reserves the right to change the anticipated dates in its sole discretion.
- The winning entrant will be required to enter into a formal partnering agreement (PA) with the company that will detail specific terms and conditions relating to the production of the workshop and the staged concert of the show. The PA will include fundamental terms covering, inter alia, each of the company’s and the winning entrant’s rights and obligations; options for future development and productions of the show including entitlements to future royalties and licence fees; rights of refusal; management of productions and artistic licence; etc. A full copy of the proposed PA will be available to each entrant upon request.
- The winning entrant will be chosen by the company’s selection panel from all entries received and verified by the company.
- The winner will be notified by email. It will also be announced on Facebook on 01 November 2020.
- The Company’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered in to.
- By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions and will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
- The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by the exclusive jurisdiction of the laws and the courts of Victoria, Australia.
- The winner authorises the Company to use his/her name, image and entry in publicity material, and to make himself/herself available to help promote the competition. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be subject to privacy and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
- This competition is not sponsored or endorsed by Facebook, Twitter or any other Social Network.
- The Company shall have the right, at its sole discretion and at any time, to change or modify these terms and conditions and such change shall be effective immediately upon posting to the Company webpage.
- If individual entrants enter this competition on behalf of themselves and other parties, that entrant warrants to the Company that he/she has the full authority to represent such parties and to enter this competition on their behalf and that such parties have represented to that entrant that they have agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions.
